RACE DETAILS

The SOO 200 is a 200-mile race through the Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma area of Ontario. Known for its tough Canadian Shield landscape and stunning coastal views, this race combines a variety of terrains, including single track, double track, dirt roads, bushwhacking, and beach running. Schedule:

  • Check-in: Sunday, July 20, 2:00-9:00pm
  • Welcome Meal + Race Meeting: Sunday, July 20, 6:00-8:00pm
  • Race Date: Monday, July 21 to Friday July 25
  • Start Time: Competitors will board the Agawa Canyon Tour Train at 7:00am on the Monday of the race to be transported to the start - projected start time is 11:30am
  • Awards + Post-Race Dinner: Friday, July 25, 5:00pm-8:00pm

GETTING HERE

Sault Ste. Marie is off of the beaten track, which is why it is so appealing for wilderness adventure. It can be reached in several different ways.

  • Flights: Sault Ste. Marie is serviced by both Air Canada and Porter Airlines, with daily flights from Toronto's two airports (SSM airport code - YAM - check airline departure location)
  • Driving time from Sault Ste Marie, MI (USA): Approx. 15 minutes (note that there are flights to Sault Ste. Marie, MI - Airport code CIU)
  • Driving time from:
    • Toronto, ON – Approx. 7 hours
    • Montreal, PQ – Approx. 10 hours
    • Chicago, IL: – Approx. 7 hours
    • Detroit, MI: – Approx. 5 hours
    • Traverse City, MI: – Approx. 3 hours
    • Green Bay, WI: – Approx. 5 hours

There are a variety of hotels and AirBnBs in Sault Ste. Marie; book early if you are ready, but we are also working on a group discount for our competitors.
